Privacy Policy

How Sterling Pipeline & Engineering, Inc. handles the information you share with us.

We collect only the information needed to respond to project enquiries and run our business. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Sterling Pipeline & Engineering, Inc. ("Sterling", "we", "us"), an oil and gas pipeline installation and welding contractor based in Houston, Texas, USA. Sterling is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit a project enquiry through our Request a Quote form, we collect:

  • your full name, company and business email address;
  • your phone number, if you choose to provide it;
  • project details: service required, project location, estimated pipeline length, expected start date, contract type, and the scope and technical requirements you describe;
  • any drawings, specifications or tender documents you later send us through a secure upload link.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view, to keep the site secure and working. Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when the page loads.

Please do not include sensitive personal information (such as health or financial details) in an enquiry. Project information that is commercially confidential is treated as described in section 7.

3. How we use your information

  • to review your enquiry, prepare a quotation, and contact you about your project;
  • to request further drawings, specifications or tender documents;
  • to manage our client relationships and keep business records;
  • to keep the website secure and fix problems;
  • to meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations.

If you are in the UK, European Economic Area or another region with similar laws, we rely on these legal bases: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract; our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and running our company; and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who run this website and process form submissions on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it;
  • Project partners, such as qualified subcontractors or specialist service providers, but only where needed to assess or price your project, and with your knowledge;
  • Professional advisers such as accountants, insurers and lawyers;
  • Authorities, where the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to respond and, if no contract follows, for up to three years so we can refer to past discussions. If you become a client, we keep project records for as long as required by law and our contractual obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

6. International transfers

We are based in the United States and work on projects in many countries. Your information may be processed in the United States and in the country of your project. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.

7. Security and confidentiality

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for this website. Access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it to assess your project. Commercially sensitive project information is used only to assess and deliver your project and is not shared outside Sterling without your permission, except as described in section 4.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is inaccurate;
  • ask us to delete it;
  • object to or restrict how we use it;
  • receive a copy in a portable format.

To make a request, contact us using the details in section 11. We will respond within the time required by law and will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. If you are in the UK or EEA, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Cookies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with its effective date at the top.
